Character Name: Caspri
Gender: Male
Pack: Comaii
Rank: Beta Male
Breed: Siberian Husky
Age: Three years
Appearance: Caspri is a lithe, handsome dog with flashy black fur that is as dark as the night sky. He has alert, sparkling blue eyes and a small nose. His long, thin legs look as though they were made for running, because Caspri is the type of dog who was built for speed rather than strength. Although he is fairly strong, he isn't as big as a normal male, which is sometimes a disadvantage for him. Caspri's shiny white teeth are extremely sharp and give one message to his opposers: Run. Caspri's claws are long and allow him to dig into frozen ground for top speed.
Personality: Capri is a clever, friendly dog. He enjoys the vast wilderness and can be protective of his territory if it is threatened. He is also a proud, extremely stubborn dog who stands for what he believes. Caspri is honest and always keeps to his word, which sometimes leads to trouble. Although Caspri is loyal, he doesn't always enjoy following orders. He sometimes wanders around his territory, lost in his own world. Caspri has never been in love with a female dog before because of his independent nature that started due to his early puppy hood. Caspri loves to run and is unbelievably fast. His puppy hood friend always wondered when he raced him how he had so much endurance and speed. Caspri prefers to annoy his enemies by outwitting and outracing them as opposed to fighting them.
History: When Caspri was a young puppy, he was taken to a home by a rich man who presented Caspri to his spoiled son at Christmas. Caspri disliked the boy at first sight, and the boy's attitude didn't help. When the child saw Caspri, he screamed and stomped his foot. For two torturous days, Caspri endured the boy's pinches, pushes, punches, deafening screams, and kicks. Then, on the third day, Caspri's anger took control. In the early morning, when the snobby boy smacked Caspri because he had accidentally knocked over his brand-new train set, Caspri snarled and leapt onto the boy. Even at a young age, Caspri's teeth were sharp. He ripped into the screeching child's pajamas and clawed his belly. The pair rolled around for less than a minute, because the man came into the room. He let out an angry yell and seized Caspri by his scruff. Caspri yelped, but the man dragged him to the door, shaking and cursing him, and roughly tossed him outside. Then the door slammed for the last time.
After being thrown into homelessness, Caspri wandered around the small town, looking for food and shelter. He stumbled into a narrow alley, where he met a young border collie, Blacky. The two instantly became friends. Caspri and Blacky spent their days racing, stealing food, and watching people hurry throughout the day. After a year, Caspri decided to explore an enormous forest that was just past the town. Blacky was frightened of walking past his home, and he refused to go. The two had a tearful good-bye, and then Caspri set off for the forest.
Caspri met the Comaii pack when he reached the end of the forest, where a large beach stretched far into the horizon. He joined them to see what life was like, and he immediately liked it. Although some dogs thought he wasn't worthy, Caspri worked hard and proved he was a responsible dog, and after a few months, he became Beta.
RP Example: Caspri slowly opened his eyes and blinked. Yawning, he rose and stretched his small, skinny body so that his fur brushed Blacky's face.
"Hey! I'm trying to sleep!" Blacky complained, shifting so that his head was away from Caspri's fur.
Caspri nudged him impatiently. "C'mon, I'll race you to the old well!" Without waiting, Caspri swung around and took off, his bushy tail streaming with the wind. He could hear Blacky's paws thudding on the ground as his friend tried vainly to keep up. Caspri turned his head and gave Blacky a sneaky smile, then put on a burst of speed, causing Blacky to fall further behind. He sprinted past several houses before he glimpsed the well on the top of a small hill. Leaping playfully, Caspri bounded up to the rusty well and sat lightly on the hill's soft grass.
Blacky appeared along the edge of a wooden house, streaking around the corner with his long, glossy fur brushing the ground. Panting, he hauled himself up the final stretch of the hill and collapsed. "Why do I even bother?" he groaned. "You always win!"
"So? Maybe you'll win soon," Caspri responded, even though he didn't believe his own words.
Blacky echoed his thoughts. "Yeah, right!" he snorted. "That will never happen!" Giving himself a quick shake, he added, "You were born to run. That was intense, even though I had as much of a chance of winning as a dead turtle!"
Caspri accepted the compliment and raised his head to gaze at the wooded forest across the town. "I wonder what's past that?" he wondered out loud.
Blacky followed his gaze. "You want to go in there?" he said disbelievingly. "You're crazy! We have a great home, a town all to ourselves, plenty of food, and races every morning! Why would you want to leave?"
Meeting Blacky's gaze steadily, Caspri replied, "It feels like I'm supposed to go there, like it's my destiny. I... I can't quite explain it."
Blacky watched him carefully, then turned away. "Well, I wouldn't want to go in there," he muttered. "It's just a normal, scary forest full of animals who want to eat me!" He shook his head fiercely.
Caspri tipped his head, puzzled. "What would eat you?" he asked, feeling slightly hurt that his friend didn't share his interest. "You're not afraid, are you?"
Blacky bristled defiantly and faced him. "I'm not afraid!" he protested. "I just...well...you know..." His voice faltered and he looked away.
Caspri didn't press him for answers. Instead, he let out a high-pitched bark that caused Blacky to raise his head, relieved, and charged down the hill, calling, "I'll race you back!"
