Character Name: Anyu, named by and Inuit woman
Gender: Female
Pack: Loner
Rank: Loner
Breed: Husky/Wolf mix
Age: 2½ years
Appearance: The perfect mix of dog and wolf, Anyu boasts a 2’6’ height at her shoulder, with muscle and a weight of 130 lbs. Her shape, closer to that of a wolfs‘, is stocky with a natural grace, with long legs, large paws, and the facial structure of a wolf, with a long snout with large teeth. The only difference between her and her wild brethren is her startling thick, white and cream coat set in the pattern of a husky, with clear ice blue eyes, and a slight curl to her busy tail. Over all, Anyu is as unique as a snowflake, neither fully wolf or dog. Her appearance causes wary avoidance from both species, the wolves not as accepting of her dog side, and dogs wary or frightened by her wolf side.
Personality: As contrary as her appearance, Anyu’s personality and instincts are a mix of both her genetic contributors. Although knowing she should avoid humans, Anyu is curious about them to a point of venturing frightening close to their camps simply to watch them. She is aware of her need for contact with her fellow species, but cant help but feel detached from them because of her genetic difference with them. She values alone time more than is thought normal, but she still holds pack life and relationships with others highly, though she has never really experienced it herself. Her nature is a quiet one, mostly full of listening, thinking and watching. She would rather hear someone tell a story than tell one herself.
Though she is quiet, Anyu is actually not that shy, simply mistrustful. Being highly mistrustful of everyone and everything, Anyu has seen too much aggression and hate in her short lifetime to think much of anyone else. She usually responds to strangers, meaning everyone she meets, with a cold indifference until something happens that makes her change her mind and mood toward them.
She is thoughtful enough to pick up on others personalities and traits and is very skilled at getting along with mostly everyone by knowing what to do and not to do when around that particular wolf or dog. She is pretty easy going and is not highly aggressive on most occasions, but if she is very frightened or is in a particularly bad mood her aggressive side could surface. Thankfully she is pretty calm in most situations and tends to lean toward flight instead of fight when confronted.
She can be socially awkward with overly affectionate personalities, and can get flustered enough to simply shut down conversation and walk away. Sometimes, despite having the qualities of a beta, or even an alpha, she tends to act more like an omega, a trait she learned at a young age. Mostly this trait has been cleared out of her in her struggles for survival as a loner and learning to fight other animals or even other wolves and dogs.
History: Born in the wild from a wolf mother, Anyu knew at an early age that she was different. Her mother, accidentally bred with a stray husky, retreated back to her puppy hood pack for support in raising the upcoming young. Sadly, Anyu’s two brothers were born stillborn, and her mother’s pack believed in pure wolves, and disliked dogs. While they accepted her mother delightedly, Anyu was only tolerated for her relation to her mother. Although she grew up a part of a pack, she was never actually a ’part’ of the pack. She learned how to keep off her elders bad sides by learning what made them mad and avoiding it at all costs, and what made them happy and strived to achieve it. Though, she managed to keep herself alive and well by simply keeping to herself, she knew she would never please them because she knew she could never become a full wolf. Though some would think that her mother would lover her anyway, despite her dog genes, they would be wrong. Although her mother was the most civil to her, she treated Anyu with a indifferent attachment with everything beyond her maternal duties, so when Anyu was weaned and officially and adult, Anyu lost her only ally and her place in the pack. She struggled as an omega for a short while before finally being thrown from the pack entirely early in her second year of life.
Being alone made her tough, mentally and physically, and after surviving her second winter alone, the means to survive by herself. Although she often longed for the warmth and comfort of a pack, every family group she came across chased her off aggressively like they would a dog. The whole process repeated over and over made her stop trying after to long, the rejection from her kind set deeply in her heart and mind like an open wound. She traveled through different territories without much purpose other than surviving until she came across humans and her first look at dogs. It was an Inuit camp with huskies for pulling sleds. She stayed in the area of the strange two leggers the longest out of any of her travels, telling herself that it was because there were no packs to compete with for food, but mostly because she was immensely curious of the humans and their pets. She had contact with only one human though, an Inuit woman that was gathering wood. Anyu hadn’t meant to get that close to the humans, but had failed to see her when she was crossing a small clearing near the camp on the trail of a snow hare. They both froze and locked eyes. The moment seemed to draw on forever, Anyu’s heart pounding fearfully in her chest and her instincts began their flight or fight struggle. The woman broke the staring contest with she let out a strange snarl, her white teeth like new snow, which Anyu didn’t know was the human version of a laugh. The woman spoke in a garbled language that confused Anyu, then said something she did understand. “Anyu”. She had never had a name beyond insults of her dog genes, and the woman said it like she was addressing the cream hybrid. So, came her name which, translated means ‘one who hunts for food or knowledge’. Whichever the woman meant about Anyu is hard to say, but she had given her an identity, something she had longed for. She left soon after when food had become scarce, and although she never saw the woman again, she would never truly forget her.
Now she wanders alone, named but nameless in her solitary world, longing for an acceptance for who she is. Her past has made her mistrustful and even hateful toward wolves for rejecting her and dogs for being the cause off her suffering. It is a wonder if anyone will ever accept her, or if she will ever accept anyone else…
RP example: Morning fog settled at the bases of the towering hemlocks and spruces like fallen clouds, the broken rays of sunshine filtering through the trees adding to the illusion of an earthbound sky. Birdsong filled the air, welcoming the morning as the daytime creatures began to stir and the nighttime creatures returned to their beds to await the safety of the night, save for one lone body that padded purposely through the thinning fog.
Her cream-white coat camouflaged her in the low lying fog, though her ice-blue eyes pieced the water vapors like a knife as they leveled the surrounding with a predatory gaze. As she passed below the trees, the birds became silent, frozen by instinct as the carnivore passed beneath them. The wolf-dog hardly took notice though, it was simply the way of the world. Prey was right to be afraid of the creatures that hunted them.
The female’s pace was level, fast enough to get her the farthest distance in the least amount of time, but still slow enough to conserve precious energy for such a long journey. Long, strong legs helped her keep a long stride, while large, thick paws helped her navigate the uneven surface of the forest floor. She weaved among the trees like a ghost, a set destination appearing to be in mind, but in actuality unknown to the cream female. She was a loner; a traveler; a wanderer. She could go where she pleased, but usually went where she needed, and fought every second for her own survival. Unlike other predators, though, hers was not the kind to hunt and live alone. Even the prey knew such things. To see one of her kind alone made them think that something was wrong with the femme, for her to either be forced into solitude, or even choose the livelihood for herself. Whatever the reason, they let her be and resorted to huddle in the safety of the trees or their dens, hoping that their scent is hidden by the thick morning dew and the decomposing brown, red and golden leaves, the indicators of the season.
To all their relief, she passed without incident, either never noticing the hare den she trod right over, or simply not hungry enough to give chase to the quick creatures.
On the canine traveled as the day turned to night, stopping only to scent the air and change direction when she mood suited her. She was on the trail of a familiar but unknown scent that hung in the air like the stench of a dead moose, both revolting and delectable.
Finally, as the stars and moon lit the night sky like beacons, and the scent was heavy in the air, she stopped. Her pale eyes scanned the area, stopping on a tall outcropping of stone, which she quickly climbed. Gazing out onto the clearer landscape, eyes locking on the patch of distant land that had drawn her there like a carcass. The nearly treeless valley was broken by symmetrical structures, trails of smoke lifting up to full the sky above like a warm fog. The scent of humans was strong, even so far away, probably unbroken by any of their creatures, and carried up to her by the wind and the tall smoke stacks. Normally the sight of the human settlement would have sent her instincts reeling, telling her to retreat to the safety of the forest, but the young canine felt that her options were running thin. The wolf packs had claimed the best hunting territories for themselves, and they barely tolerated other wolves trespassing, let alone a wolf-dog, and she feared that the upcoming winter would be a harsh one, instincts telling her so…
Her own personal fog formed in front of her with her deep, strong breaths, the cold night getting colder quickly. Only the need to find somewhere warm made her leave the rock, though her eyes still saw the warm lights that could only be fire, something she had seen before among humans, though this village was full of many of them, some small, some big, all bright in the dark Alaskan night. She wondered why that was so, but she didn’t dwell on it for too long, for she would soon get close enough to investigate, something that Anyu found strangely exhilarating…

Miscellaneous: I know that it say’s no wolves in the form, that no wolves were allowed, but I was told by a member that part wolves were (which was what I wanted anyway, not a full wolf.. ) so I made the profile anyway in hopes of being accepted. I do hope the detailed profile make up for the unwanted breed…I also know there are a lot of loners, but for the sake of my character I started her off as a Loner, although I hope to have her join a pack or find a mate, or even both, in the future.
Other accounts: Not on this site I don’t.
