A huge brown Labrador walked the desolate red cliffs overlooking the ocean. His dark eyes scanning the horizon. He walked alone, and in his solitude there was nothing. No wind, no sound, no thoughts. He was just there. His heart fluttered. There was no way to describe this feeling. His claws clicked on the stone, and he stopped. Suddenly, a light breeze interrupted the silence. It ruffled his fur, and he sighed, sitting down on the edge of the cliff.

Kia padded up the steep ravine that led to the the Red Cliffs. They were always taking the lives of many dogs who dared peer over the sickening ledge that led to their doom. She closed her eyes and forced her paws to continue to tread the dangerous ground, telling herself that she would be there in just a second. Then she snapped open her eyes and looked down. If she had taken another pawstep, she would have hit air and gone tumbling down the mountain. And maybe that was a good thing. Kia took a deep breath and forced herself to think otherwise and continue. She didn't come up here to throw herself off, so what did she come up here for? To clear my mind? No, not ever the whitest cloud could clear my cluttered mind...
