Demitri was running through the bushes, dodging thorn bushes with the slightest movement of his huge paws. He was on his way once again to meet his new mate Sakura, who was soon going to have his pups. This thought made his chest swell huge with pride, as it did every time he thought about it. He was nearing their meeting place: the railroad tracks, and as sooon as he got within a hundred tail lengths of it he could smell the black and white husky on the wind.

Sakura had been walking towards the railroad tracks, her belly swaying beneath her, when suddenly she felt a strange snesation rush through her body. And, as a small train rushed by, blaring it's horn, Sakura collapsed in a heap beside the railroad tracks. As she lay there silently, she could only hope that Demetri got here soon.

Demitri reeled as the train passed only a mouse length in front of his paw. As the train passed he finally saw Sakura. But something was wrong... She lay on her side, not even looking up as he ran over. "Sakura?" he asked cautiously, "Sakura!" She wasn't answering. he ran to her side."Sakura! What's wrong!" He asked, fear began awakening inside him. Quickly he licked her face. "Sakura!" "What's wrong?"

Sakura's eyes opened as she gazed up at Demetri's face. "I'm fine, I'm fine." she whispered, "but I think the pups are coming!" no sooner had she said that, another ripple passed through her body and a tiny head emerged into daylight.

Demitri gazed doubtfully at her when she said she was fine, as she was collapsed on the ground, but as soon as she said the pups were coming, he started to panic. A strange ripple seemed to pass through her body, and the face of a tiny puppy emerged into the light. Stunned, Demitri looked at his mate. "Now?" he asked her, clearly this was a bad place.

Sakura glared at him. "No! Tommorow! What do you think?" she didn't mean to snap at him, it just hurt so bad!! With another ripple the little puppy came all the way out. Sakura grabbed him gently and began to lick him all over. He whined loudly and squirmed around. Sakura nudged him towards her stomach where he happily began to suckle. She smiled at the little pup. "He looks like my mother." she whispered. The little pup was red and white. His face was red with a stripe of white down the middle. His underbelly was white but the rest of his body was red. Another ripple passed through her and she grimiced and lay her head back down again.

Her snapping alarmed him, but he supposed it hurt alot so he kept quiet. The first tiny puppy emerged completely. Sakura grabbed it and began licking it quickley and softly. "He looks like my mother." she whispered, but Demitri saw more of Sakura in the tiny pup than anything else. It's russet colored fur glinted as it cried and took it's first few breaths. Suddenly Sakura lay her head back down on the ground, and another strange ripple passed through her. Another puppy? His chest swelled with pride as he began carefully licking the first puppy as Sakura had. He leaned over and Licked Sakura's strained face. Blinking in sympathy, he nuzzled her cheek. "It's gonna be ok..." He told her. "You're doing great"

Sakura's body went through another ripple and a little cream colored head emerged. She groaned and the little pup pushed all the way out. Sakura grabbed her and put her beside her stomach and began licking her vigorously. The little pup wailed angrily as Sakura pushed her towards her stomach. The little boy pup growled at her as she neared him.

Demitri watched as the second, cream colored puppy made it's way out into the world. As Sakura neared it, it growled. Demitri blinked in surprise. Two puppies! The small russet female squirmed around between his paws and he set her down beside Sakura's stomach. Carefully he sniffed the second puppy, but as soon as he neared it it growled. Disappointment filled his eyes. He turned back to the other pup, and licked her. Her fur reminded him of the ginger plants that grew beside the railroad. She smelled of them to, as she was lying on them. Little tongue hung out of her mouth in a tiny puppy smile. Demitri grinned. The tiny pups eyes were still closed, but it was if they were having a conversation...

Sakura's body heaved again and a small golden brown head slid out of her body. She smiled and began to cleanse her thouroughly. The little puppy let out a feeble wimper and snuggled up next to her mother and her two siblings. Sakura gazed down silently at the pups. Then she felt another one coming. She took a deep breath and waited.

Demitri waited patiently as another puppy made it's way into the huge bright world, and took it's first breaths. He licked the two that sat beside her belly. Every now and again he'd link Sakura's head to reassure her. The sun was growing dimmer, and the light was fading into a golden sunset. He gazed at the beautiful sight.
[[uh... how many puppies is she having again? Ginger, Cream colored pup, Golden pup, and.... ]]

Sakura smiled. But her frown quickly faded away as another puppy slid out. This puppy was still. Deathly still. It was a dark black color and, as Sakura picked him up, she closed her eyes. She threw him off to the side. "He's gone." she told Demetri sadly. But she couldn't mourn for to long, as a golden brown puppy entered the world. She put her next to her siblings and sighed.

Demitri gasped as Sakura grasped a dark brown puppy by the scruff and threw him off to the side. Demitri peered closely at the pup. It looked almost identical to himself, but black colored with a curved up husky-like tail. But the pup was not breathing. No tiny whimpering sounds escaped it's tiny mouth, nor did it scramble for it's mother like the other pups. A small tear rolled down his cheek and hit the dusty ground beside the railroad tracks. A stillborn pup. Never getting to experience the world. He walked over to a small bush beside the tracks, and began digging. His powerful paws worked away at the dusty soil until he had a whole deeper than his front leg was long, but no wider than his head. Gingerly, he picked up the discarded pup and placed him in the hole he has dug. Grabbing a nearby wild rose in his teeth, he laid it on top of the puppy. "You never got to experience the world, so now you will be with it forever..." Carefully, he scooped sand over the pup, and when the whole was filled he turned back to Sakura. She too loked sad at the loss of one of their pups, but she still had some work to do, and so Demitri laid silently at her side, his head between his paws.
[[ In that case I'll have two pups! ^_^ Ginger, and another girl, but black with really light blue eyes and shorthair with a curved husky tail. Twin of the one that died... Her name will be... ummmmmmm... Sky!

ooc: K, then she'll have six, we need takers for the first two  Sakura sighed, this was really getting tiring. she heaved and another pup came out. She gasped in surprise. It was the excact same as the other pup!! She grabbed it quickly and licked it fiercly. The pup screeched and Sakura sighed with relief and placed her beside her siblings. She could tell that there was a light at the end of thee tunnel, only one more pup was left...She took a deep breath. |

Demitri's eyebrows shot up when he realised that the latest pup to be born was exactly like the one that had died! But this tiny black pup was a female. All the tiny puppies whined and wailed by their mother's side, and Demitri licked them one by one. They quieted down a little, but the tiny black one kept on crying. Demitri's ears flattened at the sound. He licked that one for a while before giving the other ones a turn. He counted them. 1...2...3...4... . The large red and white male, The Cream colored female, The Golden brown longhaired female, and The Black pup. All so different, and yet they all had a little bit of him and Sakura in them. Every one of them. He smiled.
